Karadon(tm) Product

Karadon® is a solid, mineral based surfacing material which, in its simplest form of solid color, consists of a mineral filler mixed with resins to which pigments are added to produce the desired color. The mineral is usually composed of various oxides of aluminum. The resin is engineered to have the properties of both acrylic and polyester resins.

The acrylics provide higher resistance to ultra violet rays and hence promote color fastness and consistency with time. They inhibit gas or fume emissions when heated to high temperatures and also lead to higher tensile strength and lower elongation. The polyester resins provide toughness (high-impact resistance) and flexibility.
Karadon® is designed to combine the best properties of both acrylic and polyester resins. The result is a strong and durable material which is thermoplastic, may be cut or shaped into any size, is impact resistant and can be seamed to itself with virtually invisible seams.

Karadon® TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATION owns the patent and trademark rights on Karadon and has registered these rights in several countries including Canada, U.S., U.K. and China. Patent applications are pending in several other countries .
